A 64-year-old taxi driver was arrested for suspected dangerous driving after a man was killed on a road in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, late on Tuesday.
At 11:50pm, a 40-year-old man of Pakistani origin, suspected of being drunk, was crossing Chatham Road South in Tsim Sha Tsui when he fell down near the intersection with Salisbury Road, Oriental Daily reported.

A motorist spotted the man lying on the ground, stopped, and turned on his car's hazard lights. While the motorist was preparing to get out of the car, a taxi passed by and ran over the Pakistani, traveling another 20 meters before stopping.
According to police, the victim was slim, 168 centimeters tall with short brown hair and wearing a gray , blue and white trousers and a pair of brown slippers. It is unclear whether he held a Hong Kong identity card.
Paramedics arrived and found the victim was unconscious and with severe injuries to his head and body. He was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he was certified dead, HK01.com reported.
The taxi driver was detained for further investigation.
West Kowloon police urged anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them by calling (852) 3661-9000 or 3661-9062.
