(MENAFN) The world's top 3 producers of memory chips revealed that they have witnessed their joint revenue from server chips increase by around 30% in the second three months of the current year.
Meanwhile, DRAMeXchange data reported that the combined server DRAM revenue of three suppliers, Samsung Electronics Co., SK hynix Inc. as well as Micron Technology Inc., have reached USD4.43 billion in the cited period, marking a rise by 30.1% compared with Q1 of 2017.
According to Mark Liu, an analyst at DRAMeXchange, this expansion in sales of server DRAM chips was mainly after "the increase in the average memory density of server systems."
