'Witch' tortured to death
The torture and murder of a 40-year-old widow, who was allegedly called a witch and forced to eat to feces by her relatives, came to light on Monday, after her daughter went to police in Rajasthan's Ajmer district, according to media sources. Police said her relatives murdered her on August 2 and cremated her, destroying crucial evidence.
Ajmer Police Superintendent Rajendra Singh said, 'Kanya Devi Raigar was branded a witch and severely tortured before being beaten to death. Her relatives forced her to eat feces.' Her 15-year-old son was reportedly the sole witness.
