Report: Armed man near Luhansk threatens to shoot SMM observers

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) An armed man threatened to shoot four observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) at a bridge in the village of Stanytsia Luhanska in Luhansk region, according to a report posted on the mission's website.

According to the report, early on August 13, the SMM patrol was monitoring civilians crossing the wooden ramps at the pedestrian bridge in Stanytsia Luhanska. The man was armed with an assault rifle (AK-variant), pointed it at patrol members and demanded that they leave the bridge. The gunman said that he would shoot.

"You are all spies. You do not have to walk near our positions. You have nothing to do here at all. Get out of here," the terrorist said.

The man spoke in broken Russian with a strong accent assessed as from the northern Caucasus, according to the organization. After the threats, the OSCE observers left the scene of the incident.
