Settlers, rabbis storm Al- Aqsa compound

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, August 14 (Petra)-- A group of extremist settlers accompanied by a number of rabbis early Monday stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Haram Al Sharif, according to a Palestinian source.

General Director of the Islamic Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Affairs, Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, told Petra's reporter in Ramallah that Israeli settlers stormed the Muslim's holy shrine entering through the Bab Al-Magharbeh gate under heavy protection of Israeli police.

Al-Khatib stressed that the settlers and rabbis provocatively toured the mosque's yards, where Muslim worshippers peacefully confronted the intruders chanting Allahu Akbar (God is great).
