Omani Hajj Mission to leave on Aug 19


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Sheikh Sultan bin Said al Hinai, head of the Omani Hajj Mission for 2017 said that the mission has taken various steps and maintained coordination in relation to travel procedures inside and outside the sultanate.

The mission will leave on August 19.

Speaking about the electronic registration system, Sheikh Hinai said that pilgrims would be given cards and undergo procedures before entering the sacred lands.

He explained that the transfer of Omani pilgrims' data to the Saudi Hajj Portal has been initiated and the Omani hajj companies can take pilgrim permits from Saudi Arabia.

He added that transfer of data will help hajj companies to finalise various contracts and packages of services needed by pilgrims in Medina and Mecca.

He pointed out that the Omani mission will go to Mecca and a team will be sent to Medina to serve the pilgrims of the sultanate.

He added that the concerned departments in the ministry are dealing with the substitute candidates for absent pilgrims and that their applications are being processed.
