ABU DHABI, 8th August, 2017 (WAM) -- H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, today honoured, at his office in the ministry, the family of martyr Jassim Issa Mohammed Hassan Al Balushi, who lost his life in the line of duty while attempting to extinguish a fire on an Emirates Airline aircraft which performed an emergency landing at Dubai Airport on 3rd August, 2016.
His Highness presented the "Second-Class Rescue Medal" to the martyr's parents, in appreciation of his courage and sacrifice while performing his duties to protect and save the lives of people, as an example of sacrifice and giving for the nation.
The honouring ceremony was attended by Major General Salem Mubarak Al Shamsi, Acting Assistant Under-Secretary of the Ministry for Resources and Support Services, and several of the ministry's officers.
H.H. Lt. General Al Nahyan also honoured Mohammed Saeed Al Badwawi, in appreciation for his noble actions and positive citizenship, which helped the police Sharjah Police authorities arrest several local suspects.
Al Badwawi had contributed with his intelligence and bravery, and his quickness in reporting information, in the timely capture of the suspects by members of the Sharjah Police General Command.
