Gold imports in Turkey expands in July

(MENAFN) Turkey posted that it has bought a total of 62.8 tons of gold in the previous month, which is considered the biggest on a monthly basis since the launch of the Borsa Istanbul Precious Metals Markets in 1995.

Moreover, this data marks a 1.328% growth year-on-year from the exact month a year earlier, as the government imported about 4,401 tons of gold.

The state-run Anadolu Agency added the country's gold imports during the January-July period have reached 237.6 tons.

The Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci posted "On both processed gold and gold bullions ... We have been working on this. Due to a rise in taxes on such goods in other countries, there is already traffic flocking into Turkey. We will manage this opportunity well".
