Jordanian FM, Yemeni Counterpart Discuss Ties, Developments in Yemen

Amman, Dhu-AlQa'dah 14, 1438, Aug 6, 2017, SPA -- Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi Sunday agreed with his Yemini counterpart Abdulmalik Abduljalil Al-Mekhlafi to hold the joint Jordanian-Yemeni Higher Committee meeting as soon as possible to boost cooperation between the two countries.
During a meeting here, the ministers discussed the latest developments in the region and the situation in Yemen, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.
Safadi reiterated Jordan's support of the Yemeni people and the legitimate government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi. He also stressed the importance of a political solution to the crisis in Yemen in accordance with the Gulf Initiative, the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference and the resolutions of the UN security council.
The Yemeni minister lauded Jordan's support of his country and welcomed the Jordan's initiative to host the office of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Yemen.
