Trade deficit in US shrinks, exports grow


(MENAFN) According to the US Commerce Department data, the US trade deficit shrank in June while exports hit the highest level in two years and a half.

Data showed also that trade gap had went down by 5.9% in June to USD43.6bln (AUS55.1bln).
In details, exports of goods and services increased to USD194.4bln, by 1.2%, posting the highest amount since December 2014 on higher foreign demand for American soybeans and other products.

Overall, exports of US had a lift from picking up in global economic growth and a drop in the value of the US dollar against other currencies.
