Qatari swimmers leave for World Cup
Berlin: Qatar swimmers Abdulrahman Hisham Mohammed and Abdul Aziz Hassan Al Obaidli will participate in the second series of the FINA/Airweave Swimming World Cup 2017 short-course (25 meter) in Berlin (GER) today and tomorrow.
Later, the duo will leave for the third series of the event which is due in be held Dutch City of Eindhoven on August 11 and 12.
Qatari swimmer Abdullah Mohammed Abu Ghazaleh participated in the First Series held in the Russian capital Moscow on Wednesday and Thursday.
Doha will host the Fourth Series of the FINA/Airweave Swimming World Cup 2017 short-course at the Hamad Aquatics Complex on September 22-23.
Launched in 1979, the FINA Swimming World Cup gathers world-class swimmers in a series of two-day meets organised between August and November each year.
Across nine locations, the circuit is structured in clusters (Middle East, Europe and Asia) and distributes a total of prize money reaching US$2m.
