FM briefs Japanese PM's special adviser on crisis


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met the Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan Kentaro Sonoura in Doha yesterday.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between Qatar and Japan, especially in the field of economy and investment and ways to strengthen and develop them, as well as issues of mutual interest.
The Foreign Minister briefed the Japanese official on the latest developments in the Gulf crisis and the illegal measures taken against Qatar by the siege countries.
The Foreign Minister thanked Japan for its position on the current Gulf crisis, which calls for dialogue among all parties to resolve it, urges unity among the GCC states and supports Kuwaiti mediation.
The Foreign Minister praised the economic and investment co-operation between Qatar and Japan, especially in the field of LNG, affirming commitment to continue to provide a stable supply of energy and meet all the needs of Japan.
The Japanese Prime Minister's adviser praised the depth of the Qatari-Japanese relations and his aspiration for further partnership between the two friendly countries.
He stressed the importance of keeping the unity of the GCC countries to maintain peace and stability in the Middle East.
He stressed the importance of resolving the issue through dialogue, reiterating Japan's support for the Kuwaiti mediation.
