Oman- Municipality to organise softball cricket tourney

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Muscat Municipality will organise a softball cricket tournament in October, with the participation of 32 Omani and expatriate teams.

Speaking about the tournament, Lincoln Torquato, a technician with Muscat Municipality said, 'The tournament will take place from October 6-27 on Fridays between 6am and 5pm. We'll have four Fridays.'

The final match will be followed by prize distribution on October 27 and a Bollywood night on October 28.

The tournament will take place at Qurum Natural Park with the Bollywood night at Qurum Amphitheatre in the park from 7.30pm onwards.

Torquato said that invitations were sent to over 200 cricket teams in Oman.

'Of them 32 were selected to participate in the tournament. A draw will be held on September 30 in the presence of team captains. It will be eight-over-a-side match.'
