(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- During a recent visit to Port Sultan Qaboos, ESPS Galicia crew members welcomed aboard the Spanish Ambassador to Oman, H E José Antonio Bordallo Huidobro.
During the visit the ambassador was given a briefing on the European Union's counter-piracy operations off the coast of Somalia, and Spain's continuing commitment to Operation Atalanta, which includes the deployment of warships, maritime patrol aircraft and military personnel.
Speaking during the visit, EU Navfor's force commander, Rear Admiral Rafael Fernández-Pintado Muñoz-Rojas, expressed his gratitude to the Spanish Ambassador for taking the time to visit ESPS Galicia.
'The ship's company, my Force HQ staff and I very much appreciate you taking the time to visit us today,' he said.
Port visits such as the one in Muscat are an opportunity for the vessel to restock essential supplies including food.
