ABU DHABI, 2nd August, 2017 (WAM) -- The Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy has received its 10th batch of trainees, comprising 11 male and female graduates of various law colleges, who will join an advanced two-year training programme.
Yousuf Saeed Al Abri, Under-Secretary of the Judicial Department in Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy, highlighted the desire of the academy to provide advanced training programmes to sharpen the skills and abilities of their trainees, as part of the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, to adopt the latest training methodologies in various specialised areas of study, according to the highest international standards.
Al Abri also confirmed the various programmes that will be offered to the judicial trainees, which will include applied theoretical studies, practical training in courts and prosecution offices and field visits. He stressed the importance of practical training in strengthening the efficiency of workers in all sectors, to realise the Abu Dhabi government's Vision 2030.
He also highlighted the desire of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department to prepare UAE nationals to work in the field of law, as part of its plan to increase the number of Emirati judges and public prosecutors in the Abu Dhabi Judicial Authority, which will positively reflect the comprehensive development plans adopted by the Abu Dhabi government, to strengthen the knowledge and skills of national workers in various fields.
The academy will teach all the required technical and practical knowledge and facilitate field training to provide the best academic environment that will enable its judicial trainees to benefit from their training and graduate with the required legal knowledge, to answer the need for capable staff of the judiciary and public prosecution in Abu Dhabi.
The academic programme will focus on developing the skills of the trainees and building their personal qualities and professional abilities during their training, through specialised academic subjects and units such as methodologies, legal practices and diverse training tools, as well as developing their technological and other qualitative skills.
The programme will also include 40 training courses over six semesters, with practical applications accounting for 80 percent, while the percentage of its theoretical component is 20 percent. The programme aims to develop the abilities of the trainees and prepare them for judicial work in an effective way, to turn them into exceptional judicial workers who are capable of providing complete legal services of an international standard, and to improve the nation's overall institutional performance.
The training programme will run for a period of two years but can be extended for six months, to help its graduates find work in the judicial corps in Abu Dhabi after successfully completing the course.
