(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) (Pajhwok): Saudi Arabia has accused Iranian government over refusing to complete the procedure of investigation into the incident of attacking the Saudi diplomatic missions in Tehran last year, a statement from the Saudi diplomatic mission in Kabul said on Tuesday.
The Saudi ministry of foreign affairs explained that Iranian authorities had persistently and consistently stalled and refused to resume investigation into the incident of storming the embassy of the kingdom of the Saudi Arabia (KSA) in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad even though these attacks were perpetrated a year and a half ago.
Iranian authorities had also resorted to blackmail in order to gain diplomatic privilege inside the kingdom in spite of severing the diplomatic ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
The source added that Iranian authorities had resorted to fraudulent tactics Iran despite an initial approval has denied a Saudi team entry into Iran as part of the Iranian team investigating the attacks on the Saudi Arabian embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad.
The Saudi team was delegated to work alongside the Iranian authorities to inspect the two Saudi facilities and finalise the processes relating to them the source further indicated that such acts of procrastination reflected Iran's behavior and policy, its disrespect of international laws and convention and violation of the inviolability of the diplomatic mission premises tactics Iran had used for more than 38 years.
The statement emphasised the fact that in light of the aforementioned particulars the KSA saw it vital to present these facts to the international organizations and take all necessary measures in order to safeguard its diplomatic rights in line with Vienna convention on diplomatic relations and relevant provisions of international law.
