A trade delegation of over 100 Qatari businessmen is visiting Turkey to explore business and investment opportunities in the friendly country.
The four-day trade mission, organised by Qatar Chamber (QC), will also be visiting Istanbul and Izmir, the strategic port city of Turkey, to establish business partnership.
This is in response to an invitation sent to the Chamber by Turkey's Ministry of Economy and Turkish Exporters' Assembly, with an aim at enhancing trade cooperation between Qatar and Turkey and exploring investment opportunities available in both countries as well as discussing establishing economic blocs among Qatari and Turkish businessmen and companies.
The delegation, which will be led by QC's board member Mohamed Mahdy Al Ahbaby (pictured), will include businessmen representing various sectors of the economy, who are looking to establish enterprises and partnerships with their Turkish counterparts.
Al Ahbaby said the visit comes in the framework of the visits being organised by the Qatar Chamber to several countries across the world to strengthen trade cooperation. It will see B2B meeting between Qatari and Turkish businessmen with the aim to expand their ties and establishing productive projects in both sides.
He noted that the visit is expected to witness signing many agreements and transactions, especially that there is a sincere desire by Qatari businessmen to head to the Turkish market. Several Qatari companies have also expressed their interests to obtain trade franchises to bring Turkish products into the local market, Al Ahbabi pointed out adding that there is great confidence in Turkish products which was built during the unfair siege imposed on Qatar.
He indicated that the Qatari private sector highly appreciates its Turkish counterpart's help since the first day of the blockade, noting that Turkish companies have supplied the local market with its needs of foodstuffs through air cargo before launching direct sea route between Izmir and Hamad port.
