(MENAFN- Gulf Times) More than 100 Qatari businessmen are slated for a four-day business trip to Turkey from tomorrow to discuss investment opportunities with their Turkish counterparts, Qatar Chamber said in a statement.
According to the Chamber, the Qatari delegation's visit to Izmir and Istanbul was in response to the invitation from Turkey's Ministry of Economy and the Turkish Exporters' Assembly.
The trip will be led by Qatar Chamber board member Mohamed Mahdy al-Ahbabi. He will be accompanied by more than 100 businessmen representing several economic sectors looking to implement enterprises and partnerships with their Turkish counterparts.
Al-Ahbabi said the visit comes in the framework of the visits being organised by the Qatar Chamber to different countries to strengthen trade cooperation. The trip will include B2B meetings between Qatari and Turkish businessmen with the aim to expand ties and establish productive projects on both sides.
He noted that the visit is expected to witness the signing of 'many agreements and transactions, 'especially since there is a sincere desire by Qatari businessmen to enter the Turkish market.
Al-Ahbabi pointed out that several Qatari companies have expressed the desire for trade franchises to bring Turkish products into the local market. He added that there is 'great confidence in Turkish products, 'which was built during the unfair siege imposed on Qatar.
He stressed that the Qatari private sector 'highly-appreciates the assistance provided by its Turkish counterpart since the first day of the economic blockade. He noted that Turkish companies have supplied the local market with foodstuffs through air cargo before launching direct sea route between Izmir and Hamad Port.
