King Salman to Attend King Mohammed VI's Throne Celebrations

(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat – Saudi King Salam bin Abulaziz will reportedly attend the ceremonies of the 18th anniversary of King Mohammed VI, which will take place on Sunday in Tangier.

According to Moroccan news website Le360, which cites sources acquainted with the matter, the Saudi King will hold no official meeting with foreign leaders during his stay in Tangier.

King Salman arrived in Tangier last weekend to spend his summer vacation in northern Morocco. This is the third year in a row that the Saudi monarch chooses Tangier for his summer holidays.

the Saudi King's stay in Tangier comes against the backdrop of Morocco's neutrality in the Gulf crisis, which is pitting Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain in addition to Egypt against Qatar.

Shortly after Morocco declared it would remain neutral in the crisis and offered its mediation, many feared this move would put Morocco's relations with Saudi Arabia under strain.
