US President Trump Congratulates King Mohammed VI on Throne Day


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat – King Mohammed VI has received a congratulatory message from United States President Donald Trump, on the 18th anniversary of the Throne Day.

In the message, Trump expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the King and to the Moroccan people, hailing the friendly relations between Morocco and the United States, which have lasted for 240 years, marked by close cooperation ensuring regional stability and economic opportunity.

The US president also lauded Morocco's leadership in these issues and expressed his determination to work together with the Kingdom to advance their shared objectives across the African continent.

"The United States looks forward to continuing to work with you and the citizens of Morocco to fight extremism and promote prosperity, the rule of law and security," Trump concluded.

The celebration of Throne day in Morocco takes on a special meaning this year, as it coincides with the celebration of the 230th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship between Morocco and the United States, which was ratified by Washington on July 18, 1787.

The treaty is the longest unbroken treaty between the United States and a foreign country.
