Qatari beach handball team wins bronze at World Games

Qatari beach handball team won the bronze medal after defeating their Hungarian counterparts yesterday at the 10th World Games in Wroclaw, Poland yesterday.
The Qatari team easily secured the first set 20-17 but lost the following set 20-23 to the Hungarians. However, the winners were decided after a penalty shootout in which Al Annabi prevailed 7-6.
In the semi-final, the Qatari team lost to Croatia 1-2 on Friday after putting up a strong fight.
Qatari won the first set of the game 21-14 and was so close of winning the second set, but Croatia secured the set with a close margin of 19-18 to resort to penalty shootouts which Croatia won.
In the final, Brazil defeated Croatia 2-1 to win the gold medal yesterday. Brazillians had a double delight when their women's team also bagged the gold medal after defeating Argentina in straight sets in the final which took place yesterday.
