9,000 Syrian militants, civilians to leave Arsal
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, July 29 (KUNA) -- Up to 9,000 militants and civilians will be evacuated from the Lebanese city of Arsal to the Syrian cities of Idlib, Qalamun and Al-Rahiba.
The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported Saturday that they would be transported in two batches under the supervision of the Lebanese national army and security forces as well as the monitoring of the International Committee of the Red Cross and other relevant international humanitarian organizations.
The move comes after an agreement was reached between the Lebanese army and Syria-based Jabhat Al-Nusra for ceasefire in Arsal. (end) ayb.ibi
