Oman- New passenger terminal at Muscat International Airport 97% complete


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- In a new development, the authorities announced that Muscat International Airport's new passenger terminal is 97 per cent complete.

The information was revealed by an Oman TV report produced in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Communication on the occasion of Renaissance Day.

According to the report, the completion is expected soon. The estimated size of the terminal is 580,000sq m. It consists of 118 check-in counters, in addition to 82 immigration counters.


The terminal will also have 40 aerobridges that will allow passengers to directly walk from the terminal to the aircraft. For passengers, a total of 29 waiting halls will be available for departures.

The terminal is spread across three wings, the report stated.

It is expected that the new airport will serve 20mn passengers per year, which could rise to 48mn in the future. A four-star hotel is also being developed.
