Pakistan- Tangi residents protest encroachment on graveyards

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) CHARSADDA, July 28: Residents of Tangi area of Charsadda district on Friday staged a protest against 'land mafia' who were allegedly grabbing graveyards.

The protesters also blocked Tangi-Charsadda Road for traffic and chanted slogans against the district government for its inaction to stop the land grabbers.

They alleged that a land grabber, as they claimed, identified as Amjid Ali has started construction work on an empty plot in the graveyard and demanded that to stop him and action be taken against him as soon as possible.

Later, station house officer Jawad Khan met the protesters and assured them that case would be registered and action would be taken against him.

He requested the protesters to open the road for traffic after which they peacefully dispersed.
