First graders often come to school brimming with enthusiasm and excitement for learning, life, friends, and interests. Over the course of the year they will reach major milestones.
They are excited to learn and ready to work hard. My first grade students enjoy school and look forward to learning. My students come from diverse backgrounds. About 50% of my students receive free and reduced lunch. We live in a small, rural community in western Colorado.
My Project
One area my students struggle the most with is listening and staying focused on their school work. Some students need a quiet environment free from distractions in order to be successful in school. We are very lucky to have access to technology, like ipads and chromebooks, but when they are in use our classroom can get very loud.
The headphones will allow my students to be able to hear what they are doing and be more engaged in our technology lesson.
The privacy partitions will allow my students to concentrate on their own work instead of having wondering eyes. It will discourage them from cheating during tests or assessments.
