(MENAFN- Asia Times) A 58-year-old Malaysian man has made a public plea to try to reunite with his six-year-old son, who his 36-year-old Indonesian wife took when she left in June last year.
Lim Ah Choy, a lorry driver, said he had quit his job to search for his son named Lim Kam Ming, who is due to attend primary school later this year, reported.
Lim said he married with Nadia Kristiana in April 2010, but she tried to take their son Kim Ming back to Indonesia in December 2011. His wife was found with their boy by police in Rawang in Malaysia four days later, reported earlier this year.
Early last year, Kristiana left with their child a second time without their ID documents. Four months later, Lim received a call from a friend of his wife, who said she would reveal the location of his wife and son for 5,000 ringgits (US$1,167). He refused to pay and called the police.
On June 28, 2016, two men sent his wife and boy home but asked Lim to withdraw the police report. Two days later, his wife left home again with their son for a third time. It has been more than a year since Lim lost contact with them.
Earlier this month, he sought help from Datuk Seri Michael Chong, head of MCA Public Services and Complaints Department, to find his wife. He also posted messages on a – but someone tried to disturb his search by spreading rumors that his boy had been found.
Lim says he went to many remote places, where his son had reportedly appeared, but failed to find the boy. He has concerns about his son's safety.
Last month he received a call from an unidentified person who claimed to have kidnapped his son and demanded 20,000 ringgits (US$4,668). He called the police but the person did not call back.
The father said he hoped that his wife would bring their son back home despite their unsuccessful marriage.
