QSL: Brazil's Gallo set for Qatar SC move

Brazilian midfielder Bruno Gallo has arrived to Doha and is on his way to join Qatar SC, it was revealed yesterday.
A formal announcement is expected to be made at a press conference today at the Qatar SC stadium.
The 29-year-old is set to join the Kings from Brazilian Serie A side Vasco da Gama.
The left footed central midfielder will be one of the four professional players playing for Qatar SC next season.
On their return to the Qatar Stars League (QSL), the team has signed a new head coach in Gabriel Calderon, Iranian defender Mohammed Tayebi and have also signed a number of local players including Fahad Khalfan and former Al Arabi defender Ali Jassimi.
Umm Salal seal Abdi signing
In other development yesterday, QSL side Umm Salal have confirmed the signing of Qatari defender Mustafa Abdi from Al Gharafa.
The club announced that they have agreed to a one year contract with an option to renew. The 33-year-old has represented the Qatar national team on a number of occasions and will be a valuable addition to the Umm Salal back four after Anderson Martin left the club.
The Orange fortress have strengthened their defence ahead of the new season with the arrival of Moroccan international defender Adil Rhaili and local left-back Mohammed Al Zowayed.
Umm Salal are currently training in Doha and will be heading to Holland for their pre-season training camp from the 10th to the 27th of August.
Al Arabi extend Anad contract
Meanwhile, Al Arabi have extended the contract of youngster Abdulrahman Anad for an additional year as a gesture of support from the club.
The Qatari midfielder picked up a serious knee injury while representing the Qatar U23 team at the AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers in China.
Anad, who enjoyed last season on loan with Al Shahania is a regular at U23 level and will be hoping for a speedy recovery form his injury as his new club has shown full support for the player.
Earlier on in the week, Arabi management confirmed a trio of young local players for the side. With Qatar U23 player Tarek Hamed, youth team player Zaid Saad and midfielder Ahmed Al Nhaowi having signed contracts with the club.
Al Arabi will be heading to Slovenia for their pre-season training camp at the start of next week under the guidance of new coach Kais Yaakoubi and will return to Doha on August 26.
