Hello family & friends,
For those who don't know me already, my name is Jeff, and I am a professional photographer based in downtown LA. I have a news for you guys! From July 26th to August 16th, I will be riding my Harley Davidson, across the country and back. I know this is crazy but ever since I came to the US in 1991, it was my dream to do thiscross country adventure.
The whole trip will be 21 days and 7,000 miles long, and I am nervous, but mostly excited as the departure day approaches. To make this trip more memorable and meaningful, I want to raise funds for an organization called Good Neighbors USA. A couple years ago, I had an opportunity to visit one of their field countries to see their work and was very touched. This time though, I would like to fundraise for one of their initiatives to build a kitchen for Hernan Beteta, a small elementary school in Jinotepe, Nicaragua.
Many students in Nicaragua get only one proper meal a day, which is from their schools. But many schools like Hernan Beteta do not have their own kitchens at school to prepare and serve the meal. Often, the school has to prepare the food in unsanitary conditions, and when it rains, it is hard for schools to store the food not to mention prepare the food.
I will be trying to raise $30,000 to help with this cause. That will cover the entire funds needed to build and supply this kitchen for Hernan Beteta.
