Security Lapse: African national without visa escapes from Delhi Airport

A West African national, who was detained by immigration and intelligence investigators at the IGI airport for not having a valid visa, managed to flee from their custody.

The national, who had arrived from terror hit country of Guinea-Bissau, was denied an e-visa.

He soon changed his outfit while officials were busy and walked out of the airport.

Residents across Delhi-NCR will have to cough up more money for CNG and PNG now due to GST regime.

CNG price in Delhi increased by Rs. 1.11/kg while piped natural gas (PNG) price increased by 33 paise/unit.

According to an Indraprastha Gas Ltd, new CNG price stands at Rs. 38.76/kg in Delhi while its Rs. 44.42/kg in Noida, Greater Noida & Ghaziabad.


Former AAI official murders daughter in Southwest Delhi

65-year-old Balwan Singh, a retired Airport Authority of India official, was arrested for allegedly murdering his 29-year-old daughter Shweta at their residence in Dwarka.

According to the post-mortem report, Shweta was assaulted and smothered to death.

Police officials said that Singh, who was under mental stress, denied killing Shweta but confessed to beating her after an argument.

Currently, cops are interrogating Singh.


Blind man sentenced to 10 years jail for raping woman
Gurugram


A district court sentenced a blind man, who works as a trainee probationary officer at a bank, to 10 years of imprisonment after he was pronounced guilty of raping a blind widow repeatedly under the pretext of marriage.

As both the victim and the accused were blind, the court used 'voice identification', which helped the woman identify the accused.

Court also penalized him.


MCD collects Rs. 6.17 crore penalty for air pollution

According to MCD data, civic agencies have issued 6,400 challans and collected Rs. 6.17 crore as fine for causing air-pollution in the last one year.

Challans were issued for burning leaves and at construction sites.

Meanwhile, NGT ordered land agencies to slap Rs. 5,000 penalty on people torching waste in open and Rs. 5 lakh on owners/builders for not adhering to dust control norms.


Delhi: Head on collision between 2 vehicles kills 6 people

A head on collision between an Innova and a dumper on NH 24 highway near Kalyanpuri claimed six lives and left three injured.

Eyewitnesses claim that the driver of dumper lost control, jumped off the divider and ended up crashing with the car.

The injured were rushed to the hospital and six were declared brought dead. Five people died on the spot.
