Jordanians urge government to close Israeli embassy in Amman


(MENAFN) Several thousand Jordanians urged their government to shut down the Israeli embassy in Amman and clash an unpopular peace treaty amid the funeral of a young Jordanian shot dead by Israeli security.

Accordingly, Jawawdah, who worked in a furniture firm, had got into a fight with the Israeli security guard after accessing the fortress-like compound of the embassy.

Additionally, the Israeli security guard had fired on Jawawdah after the young man attacked him, while did not confirm Israel's account that he had used a screwdriver to stab the guard.

Israel proclaimed that the security officer had acted in self-defense when he shot his attacker, whereas his father said the young teenager had no militant links.
