The Supreme Court in Taipei has rejected an appeal by a 34-year-old Indonesian migrant worker, who was convicted of manslaughter of her former employer.
On May 18, 2015, the defendant named Indayani was carrying a knife and lying in ambush outside a breakfast shop in Zhubei, Hsinchu, where she quit working in December 2014. The female owner surnamed Lin was identified as her former boss, the Taiwan Times reported.

At 4am, once Lin drew her car to a halt, Indayani dashed forward, opened the door and stabbed hard into the left side of her chest. The victim was later pronounced dead due to severe blood loss.
Police learned that Indayani remained calm after the incident and headed back to her new workplace in Emei via two taxi trips.
According to Focus Taiwan News Channel, the defendant pleaded guilty to a lighter term after admitting stabbing Lin but denied that she had committed manslaughter. Indayani told the court she was suffering from mental illnesses including schizophrenia and delusional disorder.
The Supreme Court rejected her appeal on Tuesday, saying the incident took place six months after she had resigned, and it was uncertain that her act occurred under the influence of her mental condition.
The 15-year sentence was deemed appropriate and Indayani will also be deported from Taiwan after completing her sentence.
