Our school is a PK-5th grade school. The Pre K learners who enter our doors qualified for our program because they are identified as ESL learners, qualify for free or reduced lunch, are children of active military parents, are identified as homeless, or are currently in foster care. Our learners are bused in from all over our district to attend school as the entire program is housed at our campus! My learners excitedly come to school with smiles on their faces and are eager to learn!
My Project
These family engagement packs will serve a dual purpose for my learners. They will support my students academically by reinforcing and enhancing necessary skills for future success as well as by bringing families together, to play, learn, and grow! Often times, parents ask for worksheets for their children to do at home but now, I will be able to offer a family engagement pack that will facilitate positive interactions within their family! My learners will be excited to share their knowledge with their families while playing with these materials in turn coming to school with a positive attitude and a desire to learn more and take another pack home!
