Kuwait- Indian, Filipino, two expats to die for kill, drug peddling - Worker commits suicide drugs kill woman


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, July 25: The Court of Cassation upheld the verdict issued by the Court of Appeals which issued death sentence against an Indian expatriate after he was convicted of deliberately killing his compatriot in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area during a dispute in 2013, reports Al-Anba daily.

The Court of Appeals also sentenced a Filipino expatriate to death by hanging after he was convicted of murdering his wife in 2014 in a premeditated manner by stabbing her.

In addition, the Criminal Court sentenced to death two expatriates — an Arab and an Asian — who were convicted of drug peddling.

Worker kills self: An Indian laborer committed suicide by hanging in the animal pen of his Kuwaiti sponsor in Kabad. According to a security source, the Operations Unit in the Interior Ministry received a call from the sponsor who found the Indian hanging from a rope upon entering the animal pen. Securitymen and medical emergency workers rushed to the location. However when they took the Indian down, he was already dead. His remains were referred to Forensics. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to the suicide.

Drugs kill woman: A Kuwaiti citizen in his 50s was arrested after a woman who was with him died due to drug overdose inside her car, reports Al-Anba daily. The man admitted that he tried to save the woman and take her to Mubarak Al-Kabeer hospital. However, he preferred to avoid legal problems and left her in her car when he discovered it was too late and that she had already died.

Threat to kill: A Kuwaiti citizen accused three compatriots of threatening to kill him. In a complaint to officers at the Fintas Police Station, the man said three Kuwaitis called his phone and threatened to burn his car and then kill him. A case was registered.

Meanwhile, Department of Internal Medicine at Sabah Hospital yesterday witnessed a strange incident when a uniformed policeman assaulted a doctor in the department until other doctors and visitors intervened, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The hospital administration denounced the attack on one of their doctors by the policeman while he was performing his duty.

They revealed that the Director of Sabah Hospital Dr Mahdi Al-Fadhli, who is currently overseas, contacted the injured doctor and checked on his health condition.

The administration affirmed that it contacted the police station of Shuwaikh Industrial Area to open an investigation into the case.

Girl blackmailed: A young Syrian man was arrested for threatening to scandalize a Kuwaiti girl by posting her photos on the Internet, reports Al-Rai daily.

The girl lodged a complaint at Jahra Police Station in this regard, explaining that she befriended the Syrian who had claimed to be a Kuwaiti. She believed him because he was fluent in the use of Kuwaiti dialect. They eventually had an affair and he promised to marry her. However, she started getting suspicious when he was not fulfilling his promise to marry her and finally discovered his original nationality. She then decided to break off the affair, which angered him and led him to threaten that he will publish her photos on the Internet. Jahra securitymen immediately arrested him and referred him to the concerned authorities for questioning.

Inmate hurt in fight: An Iranian inmate of Central Prison sustained fracture of his nose during a quarrel with a Kuwaiti inmate inside the prison.

According to security sources, the Iranian filed a case against his attacker and submitted a medical report to indicate the fracture he sustained.

The Kuwaiti inmate has been summoned for questioning.

Farm guard assaulted: Five unknown individuals attacked the Nepalese security guard of a livestock pen in Salmi area using iron rods and sharp objects, robbed him of his mobile phone, tied him up while he was bleeding profusely from the deep injuries he sustained and fled from the location.

According to security sources, the victim went to Taima Police Station with his sponsor and informed securitymen about the incident.

He revealed that the suspects were driving a white-colored vehicle.

The victim submitted a medical report obtained from Jahra Hospital.

A case was registered and investigations have been launched by securitymen to find and arrest the suspects.
