(MENAFN- Asia Times) A 32-year-old Filipino domestic worker prevented a possible burglary in a village house in Tin Shui Wai in the New Territories in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
At 2am, the domestic worker heard noises coming from the living room of a ground floor flat in a village house in San Uk Tsuen on Tin Ha Road, Oriental Daily reported. When she went to the living room to check what caused the noise, she saw a moving shadow.
The maid immediately informed her employer surnamed Ng, who called the police. The burglar fled before officers arrived.
No loss of property was reported. Police searched around the area but found no suspects. They are hunting for a 1.75-meter-tall Chinese man, who was wearing dark clothes and a cap during the incident.
Police and media reports did not disclose more information about the domestic worker.
On October 31 last year, a Hong Kong woman aged 39 lost a large sum in cash and valuables – worth HK$340,000 (US$43,534) – after burglars broke into her village house in San Lee Uk Tsuen, which is close to San Uk Tsuen, in Tin Shui Wai, in the New Territories' northwest.
