The Asia Times has launched an app for both iOS- and Android-based devices that will deliver the publication's regular daily news, commentary, blogs and live coverage while also providing readers added functionality.

Launched on July 25, the app includes a push notification function that allows readers to keep abreast of breaking news and also gives them the capability to easily save and share content.

The DailyBrief Must-reads from across Asia - directly to your inbox

The core objectives of the app are to create a stable browsing environment, to increase the quantity and quality of Asia Times mobile content delivery and to offer readers a better and more user-friendly environment.

Asia Times, which first launched in 1995, became the world's first fully-digital news publication in 1998 and since then has always striven to continue with this culture of innovation. Since relaunching on a state-of-the art dynamic media platform in October 2016, and publishing simultaneously from newsrooms in Hong Kong and Bangkok, Asia Times' readership has been growing exponentially and in July 2017 sat at more than four million visitors a month.

The app is free to download from both the Apple Store and Google Play and will significantly improve Asia Times' overall content provision while also supporting its ambitious growth and revenue strategies.
