(MENAFN- UkrinForm) US Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker has stated that the situation in Donbas is hot war, not a frozen conflict.
As the ATO Headquarters press center reports, Volker made such a statement while visiting the front-line Avdiivka.
"As I see, this is not a frozen conflict. This is hot war. And the cost is dangerously high human lives," Volker said, having met with the military, representatives of the military and civil administration and the affected residents of the town.
He stressed that the main task now was "to restore the integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine."
According to Volker, he arrived in Donbas to personally get acquainted with the details of the events. During the visit to Avdiivka, he heard the tragic stories of people and saw the destructions.
According to Volker, after his visit to Ukraine he plans to hold a series of meetings with representatives of European governments to to form a consolidated position on the situation in Donbas.
