Hong Kong to raise 2017 growth estimate


(MENAFN) Hong Kong will raise its growth aim as the city's economy grows faster than projected this year, as proclaimed Financial Secretary.

Meanwhile, the government will raise its whole year growth goal by 0.5 percentage points from the 2 percent to 3 percent forecast in its annual budget in Feb.

The country's economy is rebounding after increasing 1.9 percent last year, compared with average annual expansion of 2.9 percent over the last 10 years.

Furthermore, the government is capable to offer at least 18.000 private housing units in the financial year ending March 2018.
