Non-oil exports in Oman jump by 14pct in Q1


(MENAFN) Oman's non-oil exports increased 14 percent to OMR51.80mn in the Jan-March period of this year, from OMR659.4mn for the same period of 2016.

Meanwhile, the Sultanate experienced an increase in export revenue from chemicals, plastics, rubber and base metal products.

Furthermore, exports of base metals grew 43.9 percent to OMR162.2mn, whereas export revenue from chemical products jumped by 77.3 percent to OMR218.9mn.

In addition, Oman's whole exports also showed a 10.3 percent increase to OMR2.852.4mn in the cited quarter of this year from OMR2.568.4mn in 2016.
