United Arab Emirates, Dubai July 23, 2017: In the spirit of ‘The Year of Giving', Hartland International School, a British curriculum school, has awarded full scholarships to three high achieving students residing in the UAE.

The Year of Giving, outlined by the UAE government, intends to celebrate the virtues of giving and cement philanthropy in the heart of the nation. In line with this, Hartland International School celebrates giving through rewarding excellence with placement at its school. For these scholarships, tuition fees and associated costs have been waived entirely.

The programme commences at the start of the academic year 2017-2018 (September 2017) and will welcome; Elizaveta Soboleva, Year 6; Zeina Al Khawaja, Year 8; and Fatima Rizvi, Year 7 as its first champions of the programme. In addition, one of Hartland's own students who made an application has been awarded a part scholarship and Eesha Gupta, Year 7, joins this illustrious group of young people with a 50% award. The scholar holders were selected by the school Principal, Fiona Cottam, and the Chairman of the Governing Body, Professor Ralph Tabberer, upon review of the applications.

Each candidate submitted a detailed application with supporting evidence to demonstrate to the selection group why they should be awarded the scholarship. A total of 10 awards were available for this year, but only the exceptional were awarded to ensure that standards were not compromised. Though there were many very good applications from some very promising young people, not all met the requirements on this occasion. However, the programme will be extended and offered again next academic year.

'We are delighted to extend the high standard of a Hartland education experience to these young people. We are confident that they will continue to excel in our dynamic and existing exceptional cohort of students and know that they will flourish said Fiona Cottam, Chief Academic Officer and Principal at Hartland International School. 'Giving back through rewarding excellence rings true with our school's ethos of unlocking potential, and we are pleased to launch this scholarship programme for the first time in line with such a significant and notable initiative such as The Year of Giving.

The school is modelled on the richness of the best international approaches to education and is equipped with world-class facilities, delivering an inclusive enriched British curriculum and personalised learning.
