Pakistan- Monitoring Team raids Tangi Hospital over TNN report, finds irregularities

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) CHARSADDA, 23 July: After a TNN report highlighting mismanagement and lack of facilities at Tangi Headquarters Hospital in Charsadda, a monitoring team conducted raid on the hospital on Saturday and sent a report about the condition of the hospital to the Health Department.

The report says there is no cleanliness in the operation theatre of the hospital and operation equipment is also outdated and substandard. The report also says the condition of labour room, wards and other sections of the hospital is poor.

The report obtained by TNN mentioned that the hospital staff did not arrive for duties on time. It also expressed concern over closure of medical store and laboratories at the hospital at some specific times and asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to take action in this regard.

The monitoring team moved into action after TNN mentioned most of the problems of Tangi Hospital in its report two days ago. The TNN report had mentioned that people visiting Headquarters Hospital in Tangi were facing a lot of difficulties due to lack of facilities. The area people told TNN that the only government hospital for 700,000 population lacks medicines and doctors also remain absent from duty. They said there is no X-ray facility in the hospital and laboratory also remains locked due to which patients are forced to carry out these medical tests from private laboratories which is unaffordable for them. They said ultrasound facility is unavailable for women and there is only one ambulance to meet emergency situations.
