(MENAFN- Afghanistan Times) AT News Report-KABUL: The Medecins Sans Frontiers (MSF) reopened a small health clinic in the northern Kunduz province, a step to maintain activities in Afghanistan after a delay following the bloody US airstrike that targeted a hospital in the Kunduz city, the provincial capital that killed and wounded scores of patients in 2015.
This is the first health MSF's healthcare facility after destroying of MSF's hospital in 2015 in the province.
'The Medecins Sans Frontiers has reopened a small medical clinic in northern Kunduz province,' said head of the organization's programs in Afghanistan, Silvia Dallatomasina.
She said that this clinic will be opened during week days and have no hospitalization capacity.
She said that this clinic will receive small wounds and small burns.
The clinic reopened away from the compound MSF hospital destroyed during airstrike in 2015, completely different structure in another part of the city, she added.
In the clinic Afghan doctors are working and we have international staffs in the clinic as well, she noted.
She said that we have negotiated on reopening of MSF hospital, but it is not completed we need commitment to assure the safety of our staff and our patients.
We are willing to restart trauma center in 2018, she noted.
This clinic just opened today and we are expecting that around 50 patients will be received a day, she noted.
42 people including patients, medical staffs and caregivers were killed during the US airstrikes that destroyed the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) trauma centre in Kunduz, Afghanistan, on 3 October 2015.
