Qatar agrees for conditional negotiations to ease Gulf boycott

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) DOHA, 22 July: Qatar has agreed for conditional talks in an attempt to ease boycott of Saudi Arabia and its allied countries.
According to Aljazeera, Qatar's emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani in his speech called for dialogue to resolve a political crisis pitting his country against them. He alleged that his country was pitted into crisis as a result of a deep conspiracy. He also lauded his nation for not losing courage at this hour of trial.
The countries cut ties and imposed sanctions on Qatar last month, accusing it of financing extremist groups and supporting terrorism, which the emir denied.
Later, Saudi Arabia and its allies have issued a threatening 13-point ultimatum to Qatar as the price for lifting a two-week trade and diplomatic embargo of the country.
The onerous list of demands includes stipulations that Doha close the broadcaster al-Jazeera, drastically scale back cooperation with Iran, remove Turkish troops from Qatar's soil, end contact with groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood and submit to monthly external compliance checks.
Qatar had immediately rejected the demands, however, two days ago it had announced amendments in its law against terrorism.
