UAE- Sharjah completes road development for Dh2.3m

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Sharjah has completed the development and maintenance works of a road here. The road, extending between the always busy Corniche and Al Tawun roads, has been thoroughly widened and opened for traffic after the end of the work.

Fatima Al Ketbi, deputy manager of the road projects department, said the major road has been developed as per the latest and highest traffic safety standards. "The development works, worth Dh2.3 million, are part of the RTA Sharjah strategic plans to boost traffic flow on the arterial roads of the emirate and ensure the convenience of the public."

The project spans the development of the two-way road which connects Al Khan Lake Corniche with the Al Tawun road at the area adjacent to the Al Qasba Canal in Al Khan area, she added. "A third lane has been added to the two-lane road in each direction along 800m," she said. "Up to 40 parking spaces have also been added to the road, besides service works and free exits at the squares."

"The road development, being done as per the highest international standards, will boost the emirate's entire road network."
