(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 20 July: Pakistan Chemist and Druggist Association on Thursday held protest demonstration in front of the secretary health office in Peshawar against amendment in the drug law.
Score of chemists from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in the protest demonstration. The protesters were holding banners inscribed with slogans against the provincial government.
While addressing the protesters, leaders of the association termed amendments to the drug rule as an unkind step of the provincial government. They said that the amendment to the drug rule would result in unemployment of people associated with medicine business.
The protesters claimed that before introducing amendments to the drug rule, the provincial government had assured to accept their recommendations, however, the government did not consult them over the amendment. They said that according to new rule, licenses would not be issued to the medical stores running without pharmacists. Ban would also be imposed on small medical stores and wholesale of medicines.
