Russia and the United States are negotiating the creation of a group on cybersecurity, Russian special envoy for international cooperation in the field of information security Andrei Krutskikh said.

"There is no need to raise the fuss around [U.S. President Donald] Trump, the negotiations are underway ... Different proposals are being sent to each other, studied, no one is moving away from understanding the need for negotiations," Krutskikh said, answering the question on whether negotiations on the establishment of working group on cybersecurity are carried out, RIA Novosti reported.

Following the G20 summit in Hamburg, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference that there shouldn't be situations of uncertainty in cybersecurity issues between Russia and the United States.

This topic was raised at the joint meetings of the summit and Russia presented its ideas about the general rules of the digital economy and cybersecurity.

This issue was also discussed at the bilateral meeting between Putin and Trump, who said that he had raised allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election during the talks.

The practical result of the meeting became the decision of the presidents to create a working group on cybersecurity as itwill exclude such speculations in the future. The goal of the group is to understand how to jointly control security in the field of cyberspace and not to interfere in the internal affairs of foreign states.

Russia's possible interference in the 2016 election is currently under FBI and congressional investigation. Moscow has denied any interference, and Trump says his campaign did not collude with Russia.
