U.S. Fed buys USD6.461bn of mortgage bonds


(MENAFN) The Fed Reserve bought USD6.461bn of agency mortgage-backed securities in the week from July 13 to July 19, compared with USD5.656bn bought the previous week.

Meanwhile, the U.S. central bank has been utilizing funds from principal payments on the agency debt and agency mortgage-backed securities.

Accordingly, the Fed sold USD250mn in mortgage securities guaranteed by Fannie Mae FNMA.OB, Freddie Mac FMCC.OB or the Gov't National Mortgage Association.
