Brazil aims to enhance spending freeze by USD1.6bn

(MENAFN) Brazil's government will boost this year's spending freeze by almost USD1.6bn in order to cover a budget shortfall.

Additionally, the country froze 39bn reais in spending earlier in the recent year, unsetting services like issuing passports.

This move will reinforce its commitment to financial discipline after years of broken budgets cost the nations its investment-grade credit rating.

Moreover, President Temer's administration is also due to proclaim higher fuel taxes.
