(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) CHARSADDA, 20 July: People visiting Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Tangi, Charsadda are facing a lot of difficulties due to lack of facilities.
The area people said the only government hospital for 700,000 population lacks medicines and doctors also remain absent from duty. They said there is no X-ray facility in the hospital and laboratory also remains locked due to which patients are forced to carry out these medical tests from private laboratories which is unaffordable for them. They said ultrasound facility is unavailable for women and there is only one ambulance to meet emergency situations.
People visiting the hospital along with their patients said while talking to TNN that the government should ensure presence of doctors in the hospital and provide other basic facilities to facilitate the patients.
'There are no facilities at the hospital. Doctors remain absent and we had to conduct medical tests at private laboratories which is too expensive. The government should take notice of this sorry situation,' an attendant of a patient told TNN.
Another attendant said clean drinking water and toilets are not available in the hospital and power transformer was also out of order. He wondered where the hospital funds were going.
The medical superintendent of the hospital has opted not to comment on the problems in the hospital and also banned media coverage of hospital problems.
