(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Qatar Summer Festival (QSF) organisers have said Arabic music sensation Kadim AlSahir and Qatari singer Fahad al-Kubaisi will perform live next month as part of the entertainment schedule of the longest-running edition of the country's summer festival.
Both artistes are set to take to the stage on August 17 at the Qatar National Convention Centre theatre to serenade fans with a selection of their best-known hits.
The internationally renowned Iraqi artist AlSahir, dubbed the ‘Ceasar of Arabic Song', has been entertaining fans from across the Arab world and beyond for over three decades, selling over 100mn albums.
The evening's events will kick off with a performance by Qatari celebrity al-Kubaisi, who has regularly performed during Qatar's tourism festivals, showcasing the latest in the Qatari pop music scene.
Tickets for the QSF concert are now on sale at all branches of Virgin Megastores in Qatar and can be purchased online through the store's website.
Tickets start at QR45 in the silver category and are available at QR99, QR149, QR199 and QR395 in the gold, platinum, VIP and royal categories, respectively, according to a press statement.
Mashal Shahbik, director of Tourism Events and Festivals at Qatar Tourism Authority, said: 'We are pleased to present music fans with the opportunity to enjoy a special entertainment experience that celebrates our Arab culture.
'The live concerts by these two distinguished artistes enrich Qatar Summer Festival's entertainment offering while presenting Qatar's visitors with an authentic tourism experience.
The concert forms part of QSF's live entertainment schedule, offering an array of cultural shows, performances and family-friendly entertainment. Organisers have also revealed that details for more entertainment in August will be announced soon.
Held under the theme ‘Colour Your Summer', QSF is a nationwide festival that celebrates the country's family entertainment, retail and hospitality offerings.
In its fourth edition, this year's QSF stretches beyond the usual month-long period, to run from Eid al-Fitr through to Eid al-Adha.
