Karen's Kilns for The Workhouse

(MENAFNEditorial) iCrowdNewswire - Jul 19, 2017 Karen's Kilns for The Workhouse

The Workhouse is an absolute treasure. For years, I drove past the abandoned prison, wondering what lay behind it's gates. I now walk the same brick paths that were fired in kilns 100 years ago by the people who worked and lived here.

In the early years of the Workhouse Arts Foundation, I was thrilled to give historical tours of the grounds. Today I spend many hours a week in the Ceramics Building learning to create out of clay. I am so blessed to find myself working side by side with immensely talented artists, and people like me, who are there to learn and share. Countless people, young and old, come here to experience history and the arts every year. For me, it is so important that we assure that the Ceramics Program is able to continue it's contribution to the arts and our community.

The 2 kilns we are trying to build will be an integral part of making the Ceramics Program not only survive, but grow so that more and more people can enjoy the unique experience this program provides. Please consider making a small contribution to our goal of bringing these kilns to The Workhouse Ceramics Program.

I will personally give each person who contributes a small signed token of my ceramics work. Who knows, it may be worth something someday! LOL, not likely, but it might at least be good for a laugh 🙂
